Well defined balance point.
Regardless of size, the majority of the tools I find have a well-defined balance point. I believe this may have been done to facilitate hafting; however, due to the wear patterns I see on these pieces, I do not believe that many of these tools were normally hafted, but because of the well-defined balance point, they could have been if needed in a hurry.
This next shape is very common and looks similar to the letter P. The two common features you will see on this shape are pecking marks where there is the obvious removal of material and a well-defined balance point in the same location.

As stated earlier, I find both Micro and Macro versions of many of these tools, but regardless of the size or geological material each piece is made from, the same marks and features can be found in the same area. For example, the small piece in my hand and the much larger piece on the ground have similar tool marks and the same features, including a very well-defined balance point carved into the same area.
